Welcome to the First-Year Writing Program’s (FYWP) online resource for teaching in our flexible classroom spaces at North Carolina State University. This site has been designed to give FYW instructors guidelines and helpful information related to using the resources in our two “flex” classrooms, which are T126 and G121. In addition, we hope this site offers helpful information to educators, researchers, and administrators who are interested in flexible learning spaces on higher education campuses. Our flexible classroom spaces include resources such as mobile furniture of varying shapes and sizes, mobile whiteboards, and multiple LCD screens mounted on the walls for the displaying and sharing of work.
Please use this site as a resource as you plan and teach your FYW courses. And in the interest of furthering the conversation on teaching in nontraditional learning spaces, please feel free to share this link with others (at NC State or at other institutions) who might find this information helpful.
If you have questions about the program’s flexible writing classroom initiative, contact Dana Gierdowski, Teaching Assistant Professor of Composition & Rhetoric in the Department of English.
